    Overall the food was very good. The sweet & hot braised fish and shredded pork with dried tofu we had were done well, as were the ong-choy and the eggplant tofu. The tea-smoked duck was ok. Service was quick and good. And I liked the industrial feel of the restaurant. Have been here a few times, and it does not disappoint. Will be back.

    Do yourself a favor and order the double skin appetizer and the pork spareribs. These 2 items are superior and make Great China a real destination. Everything else is solid, but doesn't impress at the same level as those two items. We moved away a few years ago and came back just for those 2 dishes. The ambiance and service of this place is also top notch... it's unexpectedly nice for a truly authentic Chinese restaurant. You always see a ton of Chinese people eating here, so it must be good!

    Favorite spot for Peking duck. Don't forget to request the carcass before you leave. Makes a hearty and versatile duck bone broth. By far one of the best Chinese restaurants in the East Bay.
